The Aeolian Islands which became a Unesco World Heritage site in the year 2000.

 

The archipelago comprises seven islands :

Lipari, Vulcano, Stromboli, Salina, Filicudi, Alicudi and Panarea

...and e number of different dimensions of islets and rocks. 

The history of the Aeolian Islands is indissolubly linked to volcanoes, including Stromboli and Etna... They are still active !

These "artists" have the merit of having molded over the centuries masterpieces of nature, so you can immerse yourself in e deep blue sea, hike to the caves scattered along the coast, relax on small beaches lapped by Crystal clear waters.

...And above all : the local cuisine based on fish and delicious desserts !

Another treasure of manking by UNESCO is the Agrigento archaeological collection, vhich was one of the most important cities of Magna Grecia.

Surronded by green olive trees, almond trees, citrus trees and vineyards that stretch down to the sea, there is the famous valley of the Temples.


 

Its imposing and sober monuments evoke the mythical atmosphere of 2500 yaers ago when the old Akrgras Agrigetum was a center of power and culture.
